This is system whereby gypsum board is attached to metal stud. It is runner and stud being used for saft wall among non-bearing dry wall being used for bearing wall, diaphragm of architecture by virtue of its excellence in light weight thermal insulation and heat resistance, sound blocking function for architecture.

General description of drywall (saft wall)

* Saft wall: Saft at high rise building is connected by vertical space such as stair-room, elevator saft, service duct, ventilation hole or smoke discharge hole etc. Therefore saft of architecture should be made as fire-proof sector and it should be able to resist fire for 2 hours. Saft is a space where floor slab does not exist. Therefore its work must be done only at indoors accordingly only special stud and runner must be used.

  • ① Transportation: Types and names: Record type, name, dimension and manufacturing date etc. on label and pack and transport.
  • ② Handling: Handle it according to instruction from manufacturer and requirement of users.

Special feature of Drywall (Saft Wall)


  • * It is a product which is recognized for its heat resistance structure for 2 hours.
  • * It is a product being developed enabling works at one side.
  • * It can withstand wind pressure from operation of elevator.
  • * Works is simple and fast.

(1) Surface preparation

  • a. Embed insert for ceiling hanger accurately. Start ceiling work after completion of repair of joint part for air conditioning at inside and masonry part and works for inside of ceiling.
  • b. Make sure to keep part for installing ceiling cornice clean after advance completion of prime coating and marking and at the time of installation of ceiling plate.

(2) Installation of light weight steel structure ceiling frame

  • 1) Installation of light weight steel structure ceiling frame
  • a. Position for ceiling hanger shall be decided in consideration of works inside of the ceiling. Outermost ceiling hanger shall have no more interval than 15 mm from edge of ceiling.
  • b. Ceiling hanger shall be installed sturdily according to specified intervals. At the place for possible slumping or distortion additional reforcement shall be made.
  • c. Ceiling hanger shall be rust preventive material and if rust prevention is damaged due to welding etc. then additional rust preventing measure shall be taken.
  • d. Molding shall maintain accurate level. Corners or bent part shall be installed without any gaps by means of mitre joining. Curve part shall be processed precisely to make it have identical curvature with that of base wall surface.
  • e. Body of ceiling frame shall be suitable for installation of ceiling plate. At the time of attachment of ceiling plate install it sturdily and precisely so that it falls within tolerance for level surface.
  • f. To prevent any drooping down or distorting due to attachment of apparatus of lighting at both edge of apparatus reinforcing materials shall be installed. Position for installing reinforcing materials shall be discussed with client for electric works.

(3) Installation of ceiling plate

  • a. Installation of exposed gypsum cement board
  • 1) It shall be installed evenly and flatly and make sure to install it without bending or distortion.
  • Fix it with wooden screw at an interval of about 30cm and make sure position of wooden screw is along straightline and its position from each edge shall be equal.
  • 2) Ceiling plate shall be installed from central part. Width of ceiling plate at end of length shall be more than 1/2 of whole width of entire ceiling plate.
  • 3) Make sure to work without breaking of corners or functional defect of ceiling plate.
  • 4) After completion of ceiling frame work for ceiling plate shall start.
  • 5) The circular or deformed end shall be processed in accurate shape to prevent any gap and to fit to molding.
  • 6) Wooden screw for attachment shall maintain accurate intervals and shall be arranged to have straight line.
  • 7) Make sure to prevent any dust due to residue materials stemming from cutting etc. in the process of working and be sure workers aware about such problems sufficiently.
  • b. Installation of gypsum board
  • 1) Starting from central part keeps on attaching it toward 4 directions. Decide the length of plate in such a way that number of joint at edge can become minimum.
  • 2) By means of wood screw fix it within an interval of 15 cm.
  • 3) Joining of ceiling plate shall be made upon M-bar and there shall be no gap or ledge at joining part.
  • c. Installation of synthetic resin exposed ceiling plate
  • (4) Tolerance at the time of works
  • Tolerance for level of ceiling surface after installing ceiling plate shall be within 3mm per 3m.
